My Practice

Hi, I'm Kate. I’m an operations and program strategist with a systems-focused brain and a people-focused heart.

What I Do: I help mission-driven organizations do what they do best, by making the behind-the-scenes work clearer, faster, and more human-centered. With 15+ years of multi-sector experience and PMP certification, I know how to untangle workflows, align people, and build systems that support real, scalable impact.

How I Work: I lead with empathy and curiosity, designed around the belief that great systems exist to support real humans, not to burden them. That means I listen deeply, ask good questions, and design processes that deliver clarity without the clutter. I like to bring structure where it’s needed and levity where it’s welcome.

Where I've Worked: I’ve worked across sectors and continents, from U.S. government agencies to small and large nonprofits, academic institutions, and purpose-focused businesses, including USAID, Johns Hopkins University, Save the Children, and the World Bank. And what I’ve learned is this: regardless of size or sector, people thrive when they have clarity, connection, and systems they can trust.

What I Value: I care deeply about better work making a better world. That means centering people behind the processes, building accountability with compassion, and never losing sight of the mission. I believe in clarity that empowers, in operations that serve purpose, and in collaboration grounded in respect.

In Action

From Bottlenecks to Flow

At USAID, I redesigned approval and reporting systems for a global 11-project $360m/year portfolio. Eliminating unnecessary steps, streamlining approval processes, and introducing data dashboards resulted in faster decisions, clearer accountability, and a 10% acceleration in project implementation.

Clarity That Scales

At Jhpiego (a Johns Hopkins affiliate), I oversaw knowledge architecture for 32 global programs. By relaunching and governing an intranet used by 95% of staff, I simplified communication and cut information-access time by 25%, giving leaders real-time visibility and teams more time for technical work.

People + Purpose = Performance

At Save the Children, I led cross-functional alignment for a 100-person, $50M initiative across 7 countries. Through collaborative process redesign, clear documentation, and team enablement, we strengthened workflows while increasing team cohesion and reducing operational friction.
